 Creation of Resource Database

ISMW an introduction:

Indian School of Microfinance for Women is a capacity building organization promoted by the SEWA Bank, Friends of Women's World Banking (FWWB), India and Coady International Institute, Canada with Smt. Ela R. Bhatt, Founder, SEWA as its first Chairperson, Ms. Shyamala Gopinath, former Deputy Governor, RBI as the present Chairperson of the School, Ms. Jayshree Vyas, Managing Director, SEWA Bank as Managing Trustee and Ms. Vijayalakshmi Das, CEO, Ananya Finance for Inclusive Growth among the Trustee. The School is a pioneer in promoting Financial Literacy for Financial Inclusion.

Indian School has also been collaborating with National and International organization viz., Banks, RRBs, Co-operatives, MFIs, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, NRLM, State government agencies UNDP, UNIWOMEN, GIZ and others. The School has been;

  • Approved by the Reserve Bank of India as a Registered entity for seeking grant of Financial Assistance from Depositors Education and Awareness Fund ( DEA Fund)
  • Empanelled by NRLM as Resource Agency
  • Accredited by Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) for training BC/BF
  • Acknowledged by RBI for School's contribution in the development of RBI material on Financial Literacy
  • Appreciated by RBI, Governor for School's research on National Study on "Understanding Financial Behavior or Rural Poor Households in India"
  • Partnered by NABARD, Banks, RRBs, Co-operatives in their programs of Financial Literacy/Financial Inclusion country wide

The School had earlier promoted an informal network of stakeholders namely; National Alliance for Financial Literacy and Launched National Financial Drive on October 14, 2008 in an attempt to spread the Financial Literacy far and wide in the country and provide a common platform for deliberation of the relevant issues and convergence of their activities for Financial Inclusion through Financial Literacy. To further the objective, the School started celebrating Financial Literacy Day on October 14.

Creation of Resource Database

In order to strengthen its Financial Literacy/ inclusion team the school proposes to create a resource database of capable persons in various capacities including the experienced / retired / Professionals having worked with Banks, NABARD, other Financial Institutions/Insurance Investment / IT, Companies, Trainings / Research / Educational organizations etc. The School may utilize the service of such resource persons depending on their Experience/Expertise/Aptitude and other relevant factors as needed from time to time. For the time being we are particularly looking for appropriate candidates for the position broadly indicated below:

Positions

  • Faculty / Associate Faculty (Training)
  • Programme / Project / Research Associate
  • Project coordinators / Finance Counselors
  • System / IT / Digital Literacy Associates
  1. Faculty / Associate Faculty (Training)

Principal responsibilities :

    • Identification of training needs, preparation of projects reports including those involving financial / technical supports from and or in collaboration with external agencies, designing the training programmes, developing the training modules / materials / aids / documents, conducting training programmes, monitoring, evaluation, studies , reporting, MIS related to.
    • Any other assignment given time to time.

Qualifications / Experience :

Preferably 1st class graduate / Post Graduate in social / agricultural science / rural management (development) and or MBA (Finance / HR) with sufficient work experience and expertise in micro credit / finance, development banking, financial literacy including Digital Literacy and training / research in related areas. Retired professionals / bankers / trainers answering to above requirements are also eligible.

  1. Programme / Project/ Research / Associate

Principle Responsibilities:

    • Providing assistance/support in all the related activities of training including material development, Research, studies, monitoring, evaluation, MIS, record keeping report preparation, logistics arrangements etc. He should also be capable to coordinate and conduct training programmes as and when needed.
    • Any other assignment given from time to time

 

Qualifications:

High class graduate/post graduates in Social/Agricultural Science/Rural Management (Development), MBA (Finance/HR) with experience in training/ Micro finance and related areas. Retired professionals/bankers/trainers answering to the above requirement can also apply. 

  1. Project Coordinators/Finance Counselors:

Principal Responsibilities:

    • Co ordination/ liaison with partners/ Associates / Funding Agencies / Government and other organizations for financial literacy / education, and / arranging and / ensuring infrastructure / logistic support, quality assurance / preparation of project reports including those for mobilizing financial / technical assistance from external agencies as may be required from time to time.
    • Financial Counseling
    • Any other assignment given from time to time.

Qualifications / Experience:

Graduate / Post Graduate with sufficient working experience in Development Banking / micro finance / Rural Development / poverty alleviation programmes / banking /  finance / training with good contacts and proven ability to mobilize resources required to discharge the responsibilities efficiently. Computer knowledge and inter personal skills will be ideally required. Retired Bankers / Professional / Trainers answering the above requirement are also welcome to apply.

  • System / IT / Digital Literacy Associate: 

Principal Responsibilities:

    • To provide IT / System / Digital Literacy support to the various activities of the Financial Literacy and Financial Inclusion including networking, MIS, monitoring / evaluation, managing the finance portals, technological innovation / intervention to Financial Inclusion.
    • Any other assignment given from time to time.

Qualifications / Experience :

MCA / BCA / and other degree / diploma holders in IT / Communication / system Management with adequate experience to discharge the aforesaid responsibilities effectively.

 

For all the above positions:

Candidates should be committed to the cause of poverty alleviation. Candidates should be able to travel extensively and work under challenging circumstances in the field. The candidate must possess the ability to lead the team by example with excellent communication/motivation skills. Additionally the candidate must be resourceful to effectively cope with the multitasks and work under pressure to complete the assignment within the given time frame. Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English and proficiency in computer will be ideally required

Location:

Ahmedabad or any other centers either linked to the projects as per exigencies of the school from time to time. Candidates may indicate their preference for locations other than Ahmedabad if any.

Salary / Compensation:

Will be commensurate with the qualification and experience. The appointment can be made on one year probation against regular vacancies and or on contract / consultancy / retainer ship / as per suitability for various exigencies.
