Indian School of Microfinance for Women had a plenary at the ‘Microfinance India Summit’ 2008 from November 11th to 13th at New Delhi (www.microfinanceindia.org) on ‘Bridging the economic and social divide in microfinance’.
This plenary was chaired by Michael Drinkwater, CARE and the panellists include Tara Nair, Smita Premchander and Annie Duflow. The lead speaker of this plenary was Joy Deshmukh-Ranadive, Director of the Indian School of Microfinance for Women where she presented a perspective paper titled ‘MOVING MICROFINANCE FROM TRANSACTIONS TO TRANSFORMATIONS: Collapsing the Divide between the Economic and the Social’.
